TONY JONES
Head Women's Basketball Coach
tjones@ph.vccs.edu

Anthony (Tony) Jones was hired during the spring of 2009 to begin a great future for the lady patriots. He did not disappoint during his first season, leading the lady Patriots to the National Championship game in Peoria, Illinois and finishing with a 24-1 overall record. The lone loss coming to the hands of 4-time defending champion Kirkwood. PHCC was not able to field a women’s team for the past several seasons. Coach Jones’ accomplishment was something that had never been done before in intercollegiate athletics. The lady Patriots competed for a National Championship in their first year of competition.

Just like the men’s coach, Tony Jones knows how to win championships. Tony’s resume holds five state championships from the Carlisle school where he has severed as women’s basketball coach as well as the football coach. “We are excited to have Tony as part of our program,” stated Athletic Director Christopher Parker. “We know he can bring a solid product to the hardwood and will be able to compete for a championship right away.” Tony resides in Martinsville with his wife Jacqueline and has three daughters, Latoya Sidney, Alexis Jones, and Latriece Bettie.
