ROBERT WEINERTH

PHCC head golf coach Robert Weinerth brings a wealth of experience on the links. While head coach of Carlisle School’s golf team from 1987-2010, weinerth won 15 Virginia Independent Conference (VIC) titles and two state championships. During his time leading Carlisle’s golf team, he sent more than a dozen players to the college ranks at schools such as Elon, Longwood, Appalachian State, Radford and Guilford College.

Weinerth has served as the head golf pro at Chatmoss Country Club for the past 28 years. PHCC will play all of its home matches at Chatmoss, a 6,871-yard championship course that has hosted countless VSGA major tournaments over the years. The Patriots’ golf teams will compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association as members of the 12-team Region X.

Weinerth’s most successful seasons at Carlisle were his last. His teams went 71-2 during his final five years as head coach. They won five straight VIC titles in that span, back-to-back state championships (2008 and 2009) and finished fourth in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association state tournament in his final season.

The VISAA didn’t offer a state tournament in golf until 2008, meaning Weinerth won the first two held.

Weinerth and his wife, Martinsville High School Assistant Principal Angie Weinerth, have one daughter, Lauren Weinerth, of New York City.
