Kathleen Brown comes
to Patrick Henry Community College from Omaha, NE. The 2011 season
will mark her third year coaching the PH softball program. In her
first year she compiled a 9-31 record while starting the PH softball
program; however the 2010 campaign turned things around with 28-25
record. She continues to build on the foundation this season with her
returning players as well as another strong recruiting class.
Brown graduated from Peru State College in Peru, NE in May of 2007
with a degree in Mathematics and a Coaching endorsement. In December
of 2007 Brown received her teaching certificate in Math Education and
recently completed her Master's degree from Peru State College in 2008
in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Teaching and
Learning. Currently she is in her first year in the United States
Sports Academy’s Doctorate of Sports Management program.
While at Peru State, Brown played for four years at 3rd base. She
earned 2 Academic All-America selections and 3 All-Conference
selections. She holds the NAIA record for career walks with 143. After
playing out her eligibility, Brown was the Assistant Coach for the
Bobcats for one season. In addition to coaching for Peru State,
Kathleen also has experience coaching at Auburn High School in Auburn,
NE and for the Omaha Quakes softball organization.
Brown is an avid baseball fan, especially of the Royals and the
College World Series where she has previously worked as a ball girl.
In addition to baseball and softball she enjoys being with her family
and friends. Kathleen is the daughter of Rick and Margie Brown of
Omaha, NE and resides in Collinsville, VA. |
