Cross Country Opens Season at Virginia State Invitational

Todd Moran finished in 9th place with a time of 19:21 to lead the Patriots in Virginia State University’s 5K Cross-Country Invitational. This was PHCC cross country’s first meet in the program’s inaugural season, in which they competed against runners from Virginia Union University, Shaw University and Virginia State University.
“Our team went up against tough competition and held their own,” said Head Coach JR Smith. “I am extremely excited about what I saw today and I look forward to building something special with these Patriots.”
Other notable times included Alexander Malycke finishing the 3 mile course in 21:54, Kim Martin with a 28:52 time, and Ebony Reynolds finishing in 28:55. The Patriots will compete again September 18 in the Adidas XC Invitational at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC.
