Patrick Henry Community College’s mens basketball team is putting together a winning streak as their season begins to wind towards tournament time.

After posting a Region X win on Saturday over Wake Tech, the Patriots were able to put together a 80-64 win over Guilford Tech on Monday night at Stone Hall to move to 11-5 overall and 8-2 in NJCAA Region X play.“We’re starting to put it together a little bit,” head coach Kenny Wade said. “We’re starting to do it a little bit better, still some kinks to work out before playoff-time.”Wade pointed to controlling the pace at end of games as a point of emphasis for his team in their remaining schedule.“Learning how to control everything at the end of games has been a constant point of emphasis,” he said. With an array of scoring options that range from the inside and outside skills of Jashad Jamison to flashes shown from guard Paris Jamison and forward Jalen Thomas-Harrison, Wade said he feels confident the Patriots are going to be able to score.“It could be anybody on any given night,” he said.Wade concluded that the Patriots’ execution and intensity was key on Monday and will be important as they move forward this season.
