Martinsville– Patriots Men’s Soccer team once again finished with a convincing win following their match against Wake Tech on Wednesday night at Smith-River Sports Complex. Ranked 18th in the Nation in Division I NJCAA the Patriots came out firing, applying pressure to their opponent early in the match. This lead to a goal for PHCC’S Alan Sheahan assisted by teammate James Westfield, followed by a header from Graham Holley in the 24th minute.
In the second half Wake Tech made an attempt to run at the Patriots although Patriots keeper Tony Allsop refused to budge only allowing two balls to pass for the match. The Patriots answered back with Ndayishimiye, Banaghan, Gwaikolo and Vidal finding the back of the net leaving Wake Tech with no answer. The Patriots finished off the match with a 9-2 defeat of their opponent placing them with a 6-0 start to the season.

Coach Crehan praised his team stating “My guys have been working hard and will continue to work each day. Overall as a coaching staff we are pleased.”

The Patriots aim to continue their winning streak this Saturday at 5:30pm as they take on Richard Bland at the Smith-River Complex.
