Men’s Soccer Oust Wake Tech in Conference Tournament

MARTINSVILLE, Va. – The men’s soccer team advanced to the semi-finals of the Region X Conference Tournament by defeating Wake Tech Community College 5-1 on Wednesday, October 28.

Scoring for the Patriots were Connor O Dwyer, Elias Tamburini, James Lee, Juuso Heinonen and Allesandro Malnati. Recording assists on the night were Tamburini with two, Malnati, Kris Resendez, Alex Sorto and Ivan Hernandez.

For Tamburini, his goal put him at 20 for the season, a new school record for most goals in a season by an individual player. The record was previously held by Daniel Maldonado, who accomplished the feat last year.

With the win, the Patriots move on to the semi-finals of the Region X Tournament where they will face Spartanburg Methodist College on Saturday, October 31. The game will begin at 7:30 pm and is hosted by Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, N.C.
