It was the highest run output of the season for the 18th-ranked Patriots, who finished with 18 hits for the game. Justin Kime and Dylan Dombrowskas each had three-hit games, while three others added two-hit performances, including Bassett graduate Nic Keister and Tunstall grad Daymon Totherow, who finished with four RBIs. Keister scored three runs, and former BHS teammate Will Hylton scored twice and drove in a run.

David Hernandez earned the win, pitching six innings and allowing three runs on six hits with three strikeouts and a walk.

A 13-run third inning for PHCC busted open a 3-3 tie.

The Patriots open a three-game series with Guilford Tech on Saturday, with a doubleheader at Hooker Field starting at 1 p.m. before concluding the series on the road Sunday.
