PHCC baseball splits with Rockingham

April 14, 2014

The Patrick Henry Community College baseball team split a doubleheader Saturday with Rockingham Community College at Hooker Field.

The Patriots lost the first game 6-5 before rebounding to take the second game 7-6. In game one, Bassett High School graduate Nic Keister led the attack with a three-hit performance. Patrick County grad Tyler Belcher took the loss allowing six runs — four earned — over 72/3 innings.

In game two, a four-run, fourth inning, was just enough for PHCC to hold for the win. Rockingham scored five runs over the final three innings to nearly come back from a six-run deficit.

PHCC finishes the weekend series in the rubber game at noon today at Hooker Field.
