PHCC baseball wins another series

The No. 7 ranked National Junior College Athletic Association Division II Patrick Henry Community College baseball team won another series Sunday by defeating Lenoir Community College 9-5 at 1947762_738518222846466_1292542326_nHooker Field.

PHCC scored four runs in the third inning to take the lead for good. It then scored twice in the fifth and sixth innings to put the game away.

Scott Spradlin earned the win for PHCC, going a full seven innings with four strikeouts and one walk. The offense was led by Stibel Aleman Saba, who went 3-for-4 and two runs scored along with an RBI.

Saba was one of three Patriot hitters to register multi-hit games as a seven different batters had at least one hit in the win. The Patriots finished with 11 hits as a team.

Bassett High School products Nic Keister and Will Hylton had good games at the plate. Hylton was 2-for-3 and doubled. He also drove in two and scored a run. Keister added a run and an RBI, going 1-for-3. Dylan Dombrowskas was the other player to have two hits, also doubling as PHCC finished with five total.
