Due to full-court pressure for extended parts of the game the Patriots forced 32 Blue Stars turnovers led by Deonna Young who had eight steals.

Young recorded a triple-double for the Patriots with 24 points, 10 assists, and 10 rebounds. She also led the team with eight steals.

Shatoria Exum (23), Khadijah Wilson (17), and Monisha Manns (11) rounded out the rest of the Patriots players in double figures

Patriots head coach Brian Henderson was happy with his team’s performance especially on the defensive end which sped the game up and literally put the ball in the Patriots court.

Offensively, Henderson said he was happy with the amount of shots his team got up, but they need to shoot a better percentage from the field.

The Patriots travel to play Potomac State College at 6 p.m. Saturday.

The PHCC men’s team also beat Virginia Western by a score of 99-73. The win moves the Patriots to 3-1 on the season and they travel to Raleigh on Saturday for a matchup with Wytheville CC.
