Men’s Soccer Continues Hot Start With Weekend Sweep

MARTINSVILLE, VA – The Patrick Henry Community College Men’s soccer team continued their winning streak by defeating Hagerstown Community College and Potomac State College this weekend on the road in West Virginia. 

The Patriots defeated Hagerstown Friday night in a non-conference match up by the score of 6-2. Goals on the night were from Salvador Ramirez (2), Alan Sheahan, Julian Keso and Ben Banaghan (2).  James Westfield, Miton Juarez and Henrik Liimatanen contributed assists for the victory. 

The team continued their good start Saturday by exploding on the score board against Potomac State with 15 goals. Sophomore Ben Banaghan had a hat trick.  Milton Juarez (2),James Westfield (2), Luis Vidal (2), Kyle Hathaway, Salvador Ramirez, Jaakko Terasranta, Julian Keso, Aaron Valeriano, and Maxi Ndayishimye also scored. Assists were made by Logan Shelton, Alan Sheahan, Jaakko Terasranta, Ben Banaghan (4), David Knox, Milton Juarez, and James Westfield. Tony Allsopp and Ben Hilton combined for the shut out. 

“It was a great weekend and it felt good to get two wins on the road,” said Head Coach Enda Crehan.  “We will keep working hard in training to prepare for next weekends tough contests.”

The Patriots are now 3-0 on the season and 1-0 in region play.  They continue play next weekend against Georgia Military College and CCBC Essex at Louisburg College on September 10 at 1:00pm.
