After a slow and sloppy start to the match, PHCC found themselves down 1-0 after Frederick’s Rebecca Peak scored on a one-on-one opportunity from a misplayed ball by the Patriots’ back line in the 26th minute.  Payton Gregg leveled the score at one when she found the lower left corner of the net from 28 yards in the 43rd minute to provide for a 1-1 halftime result.

In the 51st minute, just six minutes into the second half, Payton Gregg delivered a diagonal ball to the left flank sending Khadijah Wilson in behind the Frederick defense for the go ahead score on a hard low shot to far post.  The Patriot defensive effort then took over, limiting Frederick to just four shots in the second half while forcing numerous turnovers in the midfield that led to counter-attack opportunities.

Larissa Ayo gave the Patriots a two advantage in the 81st minute when she scored an unassisted goal.  The Patriots sealed the match when Larissa Ayo and Brittany Boitnott combined on an assist to find an unmarked Khadijah Wilson on the backpost from six yards out for the Patriots’ fourth goal.  Alvalous Barbour finished the match with 12 saves.
