PHCC women’s soccer falls to Cape Fear in semi final match

MARTINSVILLE, VA – The Patrick Henry Community College (PHCC) Patriots fell to Cape Fear Community College 5-1 in the semifinal game of the NJCAA Division I Region X Women’s Soccer Tournament in Raleigh, NC.

The Patriots finish the season 13-6-1 after riding a hot streak into the semifinal match winning seven of eight, surrendering only one goal during that stretch.

Several Patriots earned All-Region X honors:

First Team – Sabrina Amos (Fr. – Goalkeeper), Chelsea Ford (Fr. – Midfield)

Second Team – Monica Brown (Fr. – Midfield), Kirsten Downey (Fr. – Forward), Savannah West (Fr. – Defender)
Honorable Mention – Kelsie Nash (So. – Midfield), Camaro Cook (So. – Midfield)
There is plenty to be proud of and look forward to with so much proven youth.

“Although we fell short in the Region X Tournament, I am very proud of all the individual and team accomplishments this season,” commented head coach Larry Wylie. “I look forward to continuing the growth of this program and developing our returning and incoming players as we prepare for next season. I’m excited to build on the successes that we have achieved.”
