MARTINSVILLE, Va. — Coming off its most successful season in program history, the Patrick Henry Community College women’s soccer team looks to continue its gradual climb in Region X when it opens the 2017 season at home Aug. 22.

The Patriots host NCAA Division III Hollins University at 7 p.m. at the Smith River Sports Complex (SRSC).

Trips to William Peace on Aug. 24 and Spartanburg Methodist on Aug. 27 round out a three-game August portion to the schedule. The match at SMC also plays as the conference opener for the Patriots.

PHCC then opens up September with a pair of home matches followed by three straight on the road. The ladies have their first conference home match at 7 p.m. Sept. 6 against Wake Tech. The Patriots then have the first of two three-game road trips during the month of September, beginning Sept. 9 against Regent University at Greenbriar Christian Academy. Region X matches against Louisburg and Cape Fear, Sept. 10 and 12, conclude a busy three games in four days.

The end of September really generates steam as the Patriots travel to USC Salkehatchie, Wake Tech and USC Lancaster in the span of a week. The road swing is complemented by a return to the SRSC to start October with a crucial Region X match against Louisburg at 7 p.m. Oct. 4.

The Patriots finish the regular season with three of the final four games at home. A three-game homestand starts Oct. 11 against NCAA Division III Averett University. Sophomore Day will be held Oct. 21 vs. USC Salk with a 4 p.m. kick off. The regular season concludes a day later at Stratford, wrapping up a two-game season series with Cardinals, the first match played Sept. 2 at the SRSC.

PHCC won a program-high 13 games last season, including an 8-1 record at home.
