MARTINSVILLE, VA -- The Patrick & Henry Community College Patriots dropped both ends of Saturday's Region 10 Division II home doubleheader to Wake Tech at Hooker Field, falling 2–1 in a tightly contested opener before an 18–0 loss in game two.

The day began as a pitchers' duel, with sophomore right-hander Toby Wilson (Asheville, NC) delivering a strong performance on the mound for P&H. Wilson recorded 18 outs across six innings, allowing just two hits and two runs while striking out six and walking three. Wake Tech scratched across a run in the third inning on a sacrifice fly after a tag-up and added what proved to be the difference in the fourth on a solo home run.

Offensively, the Patriots actually out-hit Wake Tech 6–5 in the opener but were unable to capitalize in key moments. Sophomore outfielder Austin MacAnanny (Mt. Pleasant, SC) paced P&H with two hits, while freshman Colby Rall (Wyoming, DE) drove in the Patriots' lone run. Defensively, P&H turned two double plays to keep the contest within reach, but Wake Tech's starter went six scoreless innings with seven strikeouts to secure the win.

In the second game, Wake Tech's offense found its rhythm early and never looked back. The visitors plated two runs in the first inning and extended their lead with four more in the second behind a series of RBI singles. They continued to apply pressure in the third and broke the game open with a six-run fifth inning as part of a 15-hit performance. Wake Tech also pressured the Patriots on the basepaths, collecting 12 stolen bases, and played error-free defense.

Sophomore Carson Daniel (Thomasville, NC) started game two for P&H, allowing six runs over two innings. Freshman Hunter DePriest (Alleghany, VA) led the Patriots at the plate in the nightcap, going 1-for-2.

With Saturday's sweep, Wake Tech has officially secured the series. The Patriots will look to regroup and respond in Sunday's finale at noon at Hooker Field in Martinsville.
