Patriots Rally for First Win of the Season, Defeat Southern Virginia University JV 89–84
MARTINSVILLE, VA -- The Patrick & Henry Community College Men's Basketball team earned its first victory of the 2025–26 season on Monday night, defeating Southern Virginia University JV 89–84 inside Stone Hall.
P&HCC trailed 45–42 at halftime, but the Patriots came out strong in the second half, using improved defensive pressure and efficient scoring to take control late and secure the win.
Freshman guard Wes Gobble delivered a standout performance, leading all scorers with 26 points, including 15 in the first half. Sophomore guard Jayse Barrett added 21 points (11 in the first half), while Will Jones scored 13, Kendrick Davis contributed 12, Nolan Prince added 10, Kendrake Kidd chipped in 4, and DJ Washington scored 3.
Head Coach Dan Milloy praised the team's progress and toughness. "This team is growing every day," Milloy said. "We came out stronger in the second half, stayed composed, and made the plays we needed. I'm proud of the way our guys battled tonight."
The Patriots return to action on Wednesday, November 19, when they host Wake Tech Community College at 6:00 PM inside Stone Hall.
