Men’s Basketball Falls to Wake Tech at Home

MARTINSVILLE, VA -- The Patrick & Henry Community College men's basketball team took the court in Martinsville, Va., tonight, but couldn't overcome a strong first half from Wake Tech, ultimately falling 84–56.

The Patriots trailed 54–29 at halftime, but came out with improved energy in the second half, tightening up defensively and finding more rhythm on offense. Jayse Barrett led P&HCC with 17 points, while Wes Gobble added 11 points. Kendrick Davis and Will Jones each contributed 8 points to round out the scoring.

Head Coach Dan Milloy praised his team's effort despite the result, saying, "We didn't get the start we needed tonight, but I'm proud of how our guys responded after halftime. They played with more discipline and energy, and that's something we can build on. We're continuing to grow as a group, and we'll be ready to bounce back next week."

P&HCC continued to compete throughout the second half, showing resilience and effort despite the deficit, but Wake Tech maintained control to secure the win.

The Patriots will look to respond next week. Basketball is back at home on Tuesday, November 25, when P&HCC hosts Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute.
