Patriots Capture Team Title at Yeti Invitational

SHELBY, NC -- Patrick & Henry Community College had a record-breaking weekend at the Yeti Invitational in Shelby, N.C., hosted by Cleveland Community College. The Patriots proved they are a force to be reckoned with this season, capturing the team championship in a thrilling finish.

Despite competing without Alex Gomez, the team's No. 2 runner, P&HCC edged out Truett-McConnell by a single point, 38–39, in one of the most competitive races of the meet. Freshmen Tyress Wiltz and William Overby came up clutch in the final 600 meters, each passing a runner to secure the victory.

The Patriots placed four runners inside the top 10 overall, led by Moi Cisneros, who claimed runner-up honors with a time of 29:43.

P&HCC will return to action on Thursday, October 3rd at the Harvest Moon 8K, a local race hosted by Miles in Martinsville.
