MARTINSVILLE, VA — The Patrick & Henry Community College softball team has been ranked No. 2 in the latest Division III national poll released by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), positioning the Patriots among the top programs in the country early in the 2026 season.

Patrick & Henry sits just behind North Dakota State College of Science, a familiar postseason opponent for the Patriots. The two programs have met in the national championship game in each of the past two seasons. Patrick & Henry defeated North Dakota State College of Science to win the 2024 NJCAA Division III National Championship, while NDSCS claimed the 2025 national title after defeating the Patriots in last year's championship matchup.

The early ranking places Patrick & Henry firmly back in the national title conversation as the season continues.

Head coach Robbi Campbell's squad has been fueled by strong performances in the circle and timely offense throughout the lineup. Sophomore pitcher Lily Carola has been a key contributor early in the season and recently earned NJCAA Division III Pitcher of the Week honors for the second consecutive week.

"This team has put in a lot of work and it's great to see them recognized nationally," Campbell said. "We know the season is still young, but being ranked No. 2 shows the potential this group has. Our focus is continuing to improve every day and putting ourselves in position to compete for another championship."

Patrick & Henry will look to continue building momentum throughout the spring as the Patriots aim for another deep postseason run.
