Two Patriots Earn NJCAA Rawlings Gold Glove Honors

MARTINSVILLE, VA – Patrick & Henry Community College softball standouts Hannah Haynes and Kylie Cooper have been named recipients of the 2026 NJCAA Rawlings Gold Glove Award®, presented by the NFCA, recognizing the top defensive players in junior college softball across all three NJCAA divisions.

The awards were announced Wednesday afternoon by Rawlings Sporting Goods Company, Inc. and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).

Patrick & Henry was one of just four programs nationally to have multiple student-athletes earn Gold Glove honors in 2026 and one of only two NJCAA Division III programs with multiple selections.

Haynes earned the award at first base after putting together one of the top defensive seasons in the country. The sophomore posted a .984 fielding percentage with 184 putouts and just three errors across 189 total chances during the 2026 season. She also made a major impact offensively, batting .411 with 62 hits, 45 RBI, 11 doubles, four home runs, and 22 stolen bases in 54 games played.

Cooper was recognized at third base after anchoring the Patriots' infield throughout the 2026 season. The sophomore recorded a .928 fielding percentage with 43 putouts and 21 assists across 69 total chances while consistently handling one of the most demanding defensive positions on the field. Offensively, Cooper hit .311 with 38 hits, 28 RBI, three home runs, and 10 stolen bases while appearing in 50 games for the Patriots.
