P&H Women’s Basketball Battles Hard in Road Matchup at Apprentice School
NEWPORT NEWS, VA — The Patrick & Henry Community College Women's Basketball team turned in a strong performance on the road Tuesday night, falling 63–53 to the Apprentice School in a competitive non-conference matchup.
Freshman guard Mikayla Pittman led the Lady Patriots with an outstanding 30-point performance, continuing to establish herself as a key offensive threat. Mya Newborn followed with 12 points, while Kayla Drumheller added 7. Nevaeh Haynes and Sierra Bush each chipped in 2 points.
Despite the loss, P&HCC showed composure and fight throughout the game, keeping the pressure on Apprentice and cutting the lead multiple times in the second half.
"We're a young team that's getting better every night, and that's all you can ask for," said first-year head coach Melvin Patterson. "We're starting to see glimpses of what we can become. This group has so much potential, and we're working hard every day to turn that grind into wins."

The Lady Patriots will look to build on Tuesday's performance when they return home on Saturday, November 15, to host Fayetteville Technical Community College. Tipoff is set for 2:00 PM at Stone Hall Gymnasium.
