Lady Patriots Fall to Ferrum College JV, 53–46

MARTINSVILLE, VA — The Patrick & Henry Community College women's basketball team dropped a hard-fought home contest to Ferrum College JV on Wednesday night, falling 53–46 at Stone Hall.

Freshman guard Mikayla Pittman (Orlando, Fla.) led the Patriots with a team-high 15 points. Freshman center Kayla Drumheller (Charlottesville, Va.) added 13 points, while sophomore guard Mya Mewborn (Virginia Beach, Va.) finished with 10 points to round out P&HCC's top scorers.

Ferrum College JV was led by Gracious Wise, a sophomore from Reidsville, North Carolina, who scored a game-high 23 points. Kamryn Snyder, a sophomore from Oak Ridge, North Carolina, followed with 20 points for the Panthers.

The Patriots battled throughout the contest and kept the game within reach, but Ferrum's late-game execution proved to be the difference.

Head Coach Melvin Patterson said:
"We have to play a full four quarters, and while we didn't find our rhythm until the second half tonight, I was proud of how we responded. We just need to be better down the stretch on both ends of the floor. Coming out of the break, we'll continue getting into better shape. We have the right pieces, and it's going to take all of us working together to win."

P&HCC will return to action this Saturday, January 17, when the Patriots host Appalachian Bible College at 2:00 p.m. at Stone Hall.
