Student-Athletes of the Month

Daquan Kerman has been named the male student-athlete of the month for the months of December and January. Kerman is the starting point guard on the Men’s Basketball Team. He hails from 1383521_662291600469129_336095941_nAlexandria, Virginia and is a graduate of T.C. Williams High School. Daquan is a sophomore majoring in general studies. Daquan has been instrumental in the success of the men’s basketball team this season. He leads the team in minutes per game as well as assists. He lead the team in scoring with 21 points in a win against Vance-Granville CC. “Daquan is really the player that makes our offense run and our team click,” Coach Kenny Wade said. “He has emerged into the on court leader which is going to be important to have as we head into the back half of our conference schedule.”


1544358_707682555930033_1693610293_nBraseanda Leak has been named the female student-athlete of the month for the months of December and January. Braseanda is from Winston-Salem and is a graduate of Parkland High School. Braseanda is a forward that has been a consistent source of points and good defense for the Patriots this season. She shined in the Palm State Beach Tournament in Florida and has been a threat for the Patriots in recent Region X games. “Braseanda is a great player to have on your team because she works hard and can do a lot of the little things well,” Coach Brian Henderson stated. “We can count on Seanda for points, rebounds, and defense…she can do it all and she does it with a great attitude.”
