USC Union Outlasts the Lady Pats in Softball Home Opener

The Lady Patriots Softball team performed in a back to back yesterday at Martin field, as they opened up their season against USC Union. The first game of the day, the Patriots fought hard throughout the entire game, yet they were overcome at the end by the power of USC Union.

Logan Wilgus started on the mound.
5 innings, 3 strikeouts

Abigail Shelton came in for relief.
2 innings, 0 runs

In game two, the Lady Patriots looked to bounce back and come out victorious. The Patriots battled the entire game against USC Union and batted in 9 runs during the competition. Although, the Patriots had a great game hitting; USC Union also had another good game hitting.

Megan Puckett went 7-9 at the plate. She had 4 double, 1 triple, and batted in 4 runs.

Sydney Foster went 5-8 at the plate, while she batted in 2 runs.

Kayleigh Krause went 3-7 at plate. She had 1 double , 1 home run, and batted in 3 runs.

Abigail Shelton went 5 2/3 innings. She had 3 early runs and 2 walks.

Everybody make sure to come out and support the Lady Patriots next game February 17th at home against Lakeland College at 11am. The Patriots will be looking to rebound against Lakeland and come out successful.
