Women’s basketball falls to Guilford Tech 77-60

JAMESTOWN, N.C. – The Patrick Henry Community College (PHCC) women’s basketball team fell 77-60 in a Region X game against Guilford Tech Community College on Tuesday in Jamestown, N.C.

Freshman forward and Patrick County High School product Ebony Reynolds recorded her fourth straight double-double in January with 15 points and 18 rebounds. Fellow freshman Ruth Omolola added six points and 13 rebounds while G.W.-Danville High School’s Kedra Bradley scored 10 points in the loss.

Patriots (4-8, 2-2) coach Brian Henderson said Guilford Tech played a tight zone and that his offense wasn’t aggressive enough to break down the home team. Another slow start got the better of the Lady Pats as a 9-2 run gave the Titans an early lead they would not give back.

Henderson also added that his team lost the turnover battle and had fewer trips to the free-throw line. Foul trouble played a part, as well, in leading to the discrepancy in free-throw attempts.

PHCC returns home for the first time in a week as it opens a five-game stretch at Stone Hall on Thursday against Lenoir Community College. The homestand will close out the Patriots’ January schedule.
