May 30, 2013

WBB signing6Khadijah Wilson, Katie Kopp, Caitlan Tuala, Braseanda Leak, and Deonna Young all signed National Letters of Intent to play Patrick Henry Community College Lady’s Basketball in the Fall of 2013.  The commitments bring the size of the incoming freshman class to seven, with more expected to join before the end of the WBB signing4Summer.

These five have all had successful careers at the high school level, with the exception of Tuala who comes from an extremely competitive prep program.  Four out of the Five commits come from a total of four states including Tuala from New Zealand.

“This class will set the foundation for what I would like to achieve as a program here at PHCC,” Lady Pats head coach Brian Henderson stated.  “These five young ladies are very diverse, well-rounded individuals off the court but on it they will give us speed, quickness, and high basketball IQ’s.  Not only will we try our best to succeed on the court, but work with the same intensity to succeed off of it.”

WBB signing3Wilson comes in to run the point after a highly successful career at George Washington High School in Danville, VA earning All-Conference Accolades in both Basketball and Soccer.  Kopp hails from South Carolina, gaining team accolades in both basketball and track.  Tuala, a sharpshooter from Thomasville Prep, comes in with some experience from her time spent in prep basketball.  Leak will join the team after a very good career at Parkland HS, leading her team in every major category and gaining All-Conference and Region accolades.  Young, who played her ball at Davis HS in Kernersville, broke her school’s all-time three point shooting record while gaining over 1,000 points for her career.  This past season she was named to the Piedmont Triad 4A All-Conference Team.
