Patriots Split Final Day of Series at Gordon State

BARNESVILLE, GA — Patrick & Henry Community College wrapped up its four-game series at NJCAA Division I Gordon State College on Saturday, splitting the final day after a dramatic walk-off loss in Game 3 followed by a convincing 8–1 victory in the series finale.

Game 3

Patrick & Henry came up just short in a wild, back-and-forth contest, falling 17–16 in walk-off fashion despite an explosive late rally against the NJCAA Division I Highlanders.

The Patriots surged ahead in the top of the seventh inning with a nine-run outburst, highlighted by a three-run home run from freshman Josh Hall Jr. (Lynchburg, Va.), giving P&HCC a 16–14 advantage.

With two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Gordon State tied the game on a wild pitch before D. Elsenpeter lined a two-run double to center field, scoring the winning runs and sealing the walk-off victory.

Patrick & Henry piled up 18 hits in the game, led by sophomore Dylan Howell (Weston, Fla.), who recorded three hits. freshman Jessen Copeland (Waxhaw, N.C.) and Hall Jr. each drove in three runs. RS-freshman Hunter DePriest (Alleghany, Va.), sophomore Austin MacAnanny (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.), RS-sophomore Wyatt Griffith (Allegany, Va.), sophomore Brady Davenport (Little Mountain, S.C.), and sophomore Brennan Helms (Fort Mill, S.C.) all turned in multi-hit performances.

Game 4

The Patriots bounced back in the series finale with an 8–1 victory over the NJCAA Division I Highlanders, using a five-run fourth inning to take control early.

After Gordon State scored in the opening inning, Patrick & Henry flipped the game in the top of the fourth, scoring five runs on four hits. The big swing came from sophomore Evan Androvett (Dallas, Texas), who delivered a two-run double on a 3–0 count. Androvett later added a solo home run in the fifth inning to extend the Patriots' lead.

sophomore Brody Owens (Charlotte, N.C.) earned the win on the mound, allowing just three hits and one run over six innings while striking out six and walking two. Patrick & Henry also turned in a clean defensive performance, committing no errors in the contest.

At the plate, Androvett and Hall Jr. combined for four hits while hitting back-to-back in the lineup. Androvett finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs to lead the offense.

Patrick & Henry now turns its attention to its 2026 home opener next weekend, opening Region 10 Division II conference play with a three-game series against Cleveland Community College.
