Men’s Basketball Completes 2–0 Weekend at Dennis Spruell Classic
OXFORD, GA — Patrick & Henry Community College men's basketball wrapped up the Dennis Spruell Classic with a convincing 78–56 non-conference win over Georgia Christian College on Sunday afternoon in Oxford, Georgia.
Sophomore guard Jayse Barrett (Clayton, N.C.) led the Patriots with a game-high 21 points, continuing a strong weekend for P&HCC. The Patriots placed four players in double figures, as freshman guard Braelyn Gray (Winston-Salem, N.C.) finished with 15 points, freshman guard Ramael Warren Jr. (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added 12 points, and freshman guard Wes Gobble (Charlottesville, Va.) contributed 10 points.
P&HCC controlled the pace on both ends of the floor, building momentum throughout the game and pulling away in the second half to secure the victory.
"A 2–0 weekend is a step in the right direction," said head coach Dan Milloy. "We pushed our guys to play connected basketball on both ends of the floor and they delivered. This group is growing, and we'll continue to build as conference play heats up."
Georgia Christian was led by Brandin Duncan with 16 points, followed by Naaz Brister with 15.
The Patriots return to action next weekend as conference play continues on the road. P&HCC will travel to Virginia Peninsula Community College on Saturday, January 24, for a 2:00 p.m. tip, before closing the weekend at Tidewater Community College on Sunday, January 25, at 3:00 p.m.
